Working with] a Child Custody Attorney?
Child custody guidelines will need to be established during a divorce. Someone will need to determine who has physical custody of the child. It will also need to be determined how much support is paid and how much visitation the other parent gets. More litigation may need to be required later on. This can be due to circumstances of one or both parents changing. A child custody attorney specializes in these cases, so it would be in both parents’ interests to hire the services of one. Before you hire one, you really need to think about whether you need the service since it doesn’t come cheap..
First of all, you need to be prepared to pay the lawyer an advance fee known as a retainer. The cost of your bill will be deducted from the retained as you start getting billed for the hours. You will be billed for any additional money if the case takes longer than expected. You should realize that family law attorneys charge hourly rates that range anywhere from $75/hour to $500/hour. You will also have to spend a lot of time in court. Even if your case is quite simple, it could end up costing you $3,000 to $5,000. The price will increase even more if the case requires things like depositions and investigations.
No one can really predict how long one of these cases will take. It’s best to try to reach an agreement out of court since you’ll save a lot of money. More involved custody cases may cost $35,000 or more due to everything that’s involved. If you’ve decided to go back to court to have your Child Support raised, you’ll need to stop and do some figuring first. If you need a substantial raise in payments just to cover your lawyer fees, the whole suit may prove to be a financial fiasco for everyone except the lawyer.
Being charged other fees isn’t impossible either. You may need to pay up to $100 in order to buy a book that explains the system for you in detail. Some attorneys will bill you separately for filing fees, court costs, and miscellaneous expenses. This could push your bill upwards of $250 or more. An alternative to a lawyer is a mediator who can charge between $80 and $250 an hour. You may also havre to pay for your initial consultation. Before you sign anything, it’s best to get a written estimate of the costs associated with the case.Doc No. hlsoehasl-sldhgt

Stepmom $3.17 Though Stepmom was dismissed as a contender in the 1998 Oscar race, it’s worth giving a second chance to this rather cogent, sharp-tongued look at second chances. Susan Sarandon’s performance as a mom about to be replaced by her ex-husband’s new girlfriend (played by Julia Roberts) has a lot of bite, and it’s a shame the script opted to marginalize and trivialize her plight in its final reel… |
